One of the items often overlooked on a camper trailer is the quality of the latches.
Latches are important as you rely on them to keep the camper safely closed and packed away while travelling. In the best case, a latch that rattles loose might damage your paintwork. On the other hand, if the wrong latch comes off, it might pose a safety risk or may be damaged and prevent you from safely packing away for the return trip.
Most campers use a type of latch correctly referred to as an over-centre latch. As part of our ongoing quality assurance program, we have always wanted to improve on the standard latches used on virtually all campers. Fortunately, a local Western Australian company has come up with the answer.
The Snap-Flat latch is far more solid and better engineered that the standard ones. On its own, that would be enough for Lazy Lizard to adopt them. But they have a very clever spring loaded design that keeps the latch under tension. This greatly reduces the chance of it rattling loose and will even keep it in position if it hasn't been tighten correctly.
While the latch is undone, it sits flat, so it can't accidentally catch something or rattle around loosely.
The Snap-Flat latch is so inovative that it has been awarded patents throughout the world. It is another chance for Lazy Lizard to support local companies while rewarding our customers with a supurior product.
